It was reported in Scientific American today that our distant ancestors have been identified as having inhabited the Paisley Caves in Oregon some 14,000 years ago.
This, it is said, adds more evidence if it is needed that people lived here before the so called Clovis culture of 13,000 years ago. One would hope that the Clovis people were better behaved, or perhaps they ended up around Clovis because the landlord at the Paisley Caves evicted the rascals.
What's unusual about this, you say? Simply that the first evidence we have of human presence in North America demonstrates that they were lousy tenants, and things haven't improved much since then. It shows that we are indiscriminate, equal opportunity shitters with an ear splitting drone at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other.
